In 2021, Michelle Young & Heather Beck partnered to establish Mind Over Matter Counseling Solutions & Life Coaching. Michelle and Heather are dedicated to ending the stigma associated with mental health while providing prevention, intervention, education and counseling services. Michelle and Heather are committed to providing excellent care that is individualized to your goals. Both are passionate about providing an environment that is comfortable, free from judgement and one that fosters your personal growth.

Michelle Young

Executive Director
Michelle has dedicated her life to help others break the cycle of generational dysfunction. Michelle grew up in a broken home experiencing poverty, domestic violence, and addiction. Michelle knew that her past did not define her and that her purpose was to help others see the same truth. Michelle’s compassion and understanding allows her to meet you exactly where you are in your journey and support you in moving forward.Michelle earned her undergraduate degree in Administration of Justice at Hannibal LaGrange College. Michelle graduated with her Masters in Counseling in 2014 at Missouri Baptist University. Michelle is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Missouri Qualified Addictions Professional and a Life Coach. Michelle lives right outside of Troy with her husband, children and two dogs.
Heather Beck
Therapist, MS, LPC, Life Coach

Heather is a Therapist and Life Coach who is dedicated to helping others achieve the best quality of life and version of themselves. She graduated from California Baptist University with her Master's of Science degree in Counseling Psychology and relocated to Missouri. She is a caring and empathic counselor who believes that we all possess inner strength that can be hidden behind the struggles we have encountered. Heather is passionate about empowering others to achieve their goals, overcome obstacles, and live thriving and satisfying lives.
Christina Gawedzinski
Therapist, LPC
Christina is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a certified elementary school counselor. Christina is a graduate of Culver-Stockton College and Lindenwood University. Throughout her work she has had the opportunity to work with a variety of clients including children, families and adults helping them manage different life adversities, navigate grief and process trauma. Christina has dedicated her career to helping others move through their challenges and become their best self. She is a caring and empathetic provider meeting clients where they are at in their journey. Christina is a trained EMDR and trauma counselor focusing on solidifying self-care practices and routines to meet the daily demands of life.
Kirstynn Crouch
Therapist, MA, PLPC
Kirstynn is a PLPC (Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor). Kirstynn graduated from Lindenwood University with a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling. Kirstynn works with ages 12 and up and specializes in depression and anxiety. Kirstynn is devoted to helping others reach their full potential and live happy and fulfilling lives. Kirstynn is an empathic and understanding counselor who will meet you where you are on your adventure of self-growth and will support you along the way. Kirstynn is passionate about helping others overcome hardships, reaching goals, and being the best version of themselves possible.
Nathanael Voss
Therapist, MA, PLPC
Nathanael is a calm and caring PLPC (Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor). He achieved a Masters of Art in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Missouri Baptist University. Nathanael obtained specialized training and certification in couples counseling where he focuses on increasing communication and conflict resolution skills. Nathanael is passionate about supporting others in achieving their highest level of mental health. Nathanael works with a variety of mental health issues, including depression and anxiety, as well as his passion of increasing marital satisfaction. He treats teenagers and adults in either individual or family settings. Nathanael is comfortable addressing spiritual health issues in an open and judgment free environment. Nathanael lives near Troy with his wife and two children on their small hobby farm.
